Specialized Public Health Nursing serves targeted high-risk populations:
children in foster care; pregnant women with histories of
substance abuse and/or HIV infection; preventative health care for
the aging; outreach and prevention health services for the aging
in collaboration with behavioral health services; services to
child abuse victims; health services to CALWORKS clients.
CALWorks Public Health Nursing
Public Health nurses work with CALWORKS Case Managers to
assist clients toward self-sufficiency by providing access to
heath assessment, education, and resource development.
Foster
Care Public Health Nursing
Public Health nurses provide nursing consultation, education,
and coordination of care services to social workers and
substitute care providers to ensure that all children in the
child welfare system receive quality health/medical care.
Child Abuse Services Team (Cast)
A county public-private partnership of Orange County’s Social
Services Agency, Health Care Agency, and the District Attorney’s
Office and the non-profit Orange County Child Abuse Prevention
Center offering a coordinated child-friendly approach to child
abuse investigations.
Preventive Health Care for Adults(PHCA) (Senior Services)
Public Health nurses provide free services to all individuals 50
years and older at countywide senior sites.
