Services
CalWORKs
Behavioral Health Services are "Confidential". Services are designed
to assist CalWORKs participants to overcome mental health and substance abuse
issues that interfere with their ability to get or keep a job. Even mild
emotional, alcohol or drug use problems can interfere with a person’s ability
to stay employed.
Services are
integrated and address mental health, alcohol and drug use issues. Service plans
emphasize participant choice in the selection of services and goals.
Participants are
taught to improve their skills in a number of areas that will help them to
succeed in the workplace. These skills are:
-
Attention and
concentration
-
Managing
depression and anxiety
-
Communication
skills
-
Prevocational
skills: motivation, punctuality, hygiene & grooming
-
Vocational
skills: coping, problem solving, managing stress
If you believe
that alcohol, drug use or emotional problems may be hurting your chances to be
financially independent, or if you would like a professional assessment of this
possibility you may:
-
Contact the
CalWORKs Behavioral Health Regional Program Coordinators at the locations listed
under Service Providers
