Orange County ACCEPT (Acceptance through Compassionate Care, Empowerment, and Positive Transformation)


OC ACCEPT is a behavioral health program that provides community-based supportive services to individuals who are struggling and/or self-identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and/or Questioning (LGBTIQ) and the people important in their lives.

Support Services / Hotlines:

  • Trevor Project Lifeline: A hotline that provides suicide prevention and crisis intervention to LGBTQ individuals.
  • Project Reclaim: Individual therapy, psychosocial education and support groups for Men who have sex with Men (MSM), Trans and gender not conforming people who have substance use and/or mental health issues.

  • LGBT Center OC: Support groups, social activities, and workshops for the LGBT community.
  • Bienestar: Support groups for LGBT youth and adults, parents and families of LGBT individuals.

Education

  • The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network: Provides professional development tools to schools to create a safe inclusive environment for LGBT students.
  • GSA Network: Gay-Straight Alliance is an LGBTQ club led by students that provide support. GSA Network assists students with support, advice, resources, and trainings.

Legal

  • Lambda Legal: A non-profit organization that provides legal representation and advocacy for LGBT-related issues.
  • Transgender Law Center: A non-profit organization that provides basic legal information regarding transgender laws and policies.

STD/HIV Services

  • Health Care Agency STD/HIV Clinic: Provides testing and treatment for most STDs, HIV testing, HIV medical care, information and education on STD/HIV prevention treatment, and prevention services..
  • AIDS Service Foundation: Provides HIV and HEP C Testing and prevention. There are also additional services for people who have HIV, such as transportation, mental health counseling, support groups, emergency financial assistance and housing services.
