Project RENEW (Reaching Everyone Needing Effective Wrap), serves Orange County children from birth to age 18, who are seriously emotional disturbed (SED) or seriously mentally ill (SMI). The program focuses on unserved or underserved children and their families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
While the child is the identified participant, Project RENEW uses a Wraparound model and develops a team of individuals who offer both formal and informal support to the entire family. The participant and his/her family build on their strengths to pursue goals they establish for themselves. Based on the needs identified by the individual participant and family, Project RENEW assists with linkage to resources such as mental and physical health services and acquisition of housing, food, clothing, school supplies, tutoring, employment, etc. The goal of the program is to assist families in identifying their own needs, building on their strengths and developing abilities and skills so that they can remain successful when they leave the program.
Project RENEW staff includes personal service coordinators, a housing specialist, education and employment specialists, therapists, and peer partners for both youth and adults. Services are typically provided in English and Spanish, in addition to Korean, Vietnamese and Farsi when needed.
Project RENEW is located at 1360 S. Anaheim Blvd., Ste. 101, Anaheim, CA 92805, phone (714) 689-1380. Visitors are welcome during regular business hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
