Program Description: Gang Prevention Services provides case management services in schools across Orange County through collaboration with the Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership (GRIP). Operated by the District Attorney’s Office, GRIP provides services to 4th through 8th grade youth who display signs of being at risk for gang activity. Schools selected for service include sites with high levels of truancy, discipline issues and gang proximity. Youth in GRIP who receive additional case management services are enrolled based on individual rates of truancy, disciplinary issues and poor academic performance relative to other students at the same school site. Parents are also served by provision of wrap-around services.
