Childhood Immersion Incidents & Deaths In Orange County

This report utilizes the 2005-2007 emergency department (ED) and hospital patient discharge (PD) data provided by the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. The goal of this study was to identify and characterize all immersion related incidents involving Orange County (OC) residents 0-17 years of age, in order to better guide prevention efforts toward reducing childhood immersions and drowning deaths.
