Drowning continues to be the number one cause of death in children under the age of 5.

Drownings are 100% preventable.

Our goal is to educate the public through media, classes, educational material and related consumer products to reduce the number of drownings in Orange County to zero.

Events for the day include:

• Pool side safety and rescue demonstration

• Speakers on drowning prevention

• Multi-Agency information booths related to drowning prevention

• Pool safety product vendors

• Fire/Rescue equipment static displays

• Interviews and lots of visuals for media
