Immunizations for Children
Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH)
Immunizations have been proven to be a safe and effective tool in the prevention of serious childhood diseases like measles, chicken pox and polio. Most of the
recommended immunizations are given in infancy with booster shots at the time of school entry. Children who did not receive all the recommended immunizations as babies should get the doses that they missed before entering school to be sure that they are fully protected. Pre-schools, day-care centers, licensed family care providers, and schools are required to maintain up-to-date immunization records on all children they serve.
The County of Orange Health Care Agency provides free immunizations for children 18 and under at clinics throughout the county.
