What is CHDP?
The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) Program is a
statewide program, whose goal is to help keep children and teenagers healthy and prevent disabilities, by finding and treating health problems early.
The CHDP Program:
-
Provides
preventive health exams and immunizations to children and teens
from low to moderate income families, from birth through age 18
years and for Medi-Cal eligible children from birth through 20
years of age.
-
Educates Orange County communities about the importance of regular preventive health care for all children, and the value of having a medical home.
-
Informs Orange County families about the
physical health exam requirements for first graders.
-
Helps link families to health insurance or related programs, which provide complete medical services (like Healthy Families and Medi-Cal Managed Care, or CalOPTIMA in Orange County).
