Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) Overview
Orange County Emergency Medical
Services
MICNs work within the Emergency Department at the County’s six
Base Hospitals and are authorized by Orange County Emergency
Medical Services (OCEMS). In conjunction with Base Hospital
Physicians, MICNs provide medical instruction and direction to
pre-hospital emergency medical personnel providing Basic and
Advanced Life Support in the field.
