About Whatever It Takes Court

The Mental Health Association Whatever It Takes Court (WIT Court) program is a rehab program for people who are dually diagnosed with mental illness and substance dependence. The program functions by providing participants with a Personal Service Coordinator (PSC). The PSC provides intensive case management with the partner in order to facilitate stabilization of mental health symptoms and recovery from the substance issues. Participants and PSCs work together to achieve the stability necessary to be a productive member of society. Partners in the program have access to psychiatric services in order to obtain medications for the mental health symptoms, drug and alcohol counselors for substance abuse issues, therapists for therapy, and their PSCs for everyday counseling. Through all of these services, we strive to help pave the road to recovery for the participant.

By exploring data relating to participants who have graduated the program, we can establish patterns in the recovery related to this program. This will give us an idea of what to expect when helping a participant advance through this program. We hope to see correlations between relapses, living situations, schooling, employment, volunteer work, and how all of these things affect recovery. Participants will be able to see what recovery has entailed for those who have completed the program and can know what kind of struggles they may encounter on their own personal road to recovery.
