(Santa Ana) Orange County Animal Care Center will be hosting its annual Adopt-A-Pet Day on Saturday, May 20th, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., at 561 The City Drive South, Orange. The event, held in recognition of the American Humane Association’s "Be Kind To Animals" Month, will showcase hundreds of beautiful animals available for adoption into loving homes. In addition to the many wonderful animals available for adoption, a variety of wildlife exhibits, pet product vendors, breed rescue groups, and plenty of FREE samples will also be on hand. Refreshments will be sold by Explorer Post 538 and the Animal Assistance League will sponsor opportunity drawings throughout the day with many fabulous items. "We encourage animal lovers of all ages to join us for this celebration," said Russ Patton, Interim Director of the Animal Care Center. "Adopt-A-Pet Day gives us the opportunity to welcome the community, increase awareness about responsible pet ownership, promote our volunteer program, and of course, place many animals into loving homes." Last year during the Adopt-A-Pet Day, the Animal Care Center was able to place 26 dogs, 29 cats, 2 chickens and 1 peacock into new homes. # # #
