Santa Ana- The 20th anniversary of the implementation of one of the nation's first countywide trauma systems will be celebrated June 7 at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, 1001 N. Tustin Avenue. Since the implementation of the Orange County trauma system in 1980, trauma centers in Orange County have treated more than 56,000 trauma patients. On the system's 20th anniversary, more than 100 people will gather at Western Medical Center's Bash Auditorium from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. to celebrate the momentous event. A special guest at the celebration and reception will be one of the first critical trauma patients handled by the system in 1980. Also scheduled to attend are officials of the Orange County Health Care agency, fire chiefs, hospital officials, physicians, nurses and paramedics. # # #
