(Santa Ana) - The delivery of 20,000 doses of influenza vaccine will allow the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA) to resume its flu shot program, including five immunization clinics at regional sites. Immunization Program Coordinator Mary Wright announced the regional influenza immunization clinics will be held at the following locations:
Each regional site will have 3,000 doses of influenza vaccine available on a first-come, first-served basis. Flu shots will be limited to those 60 years of age or older and individuals at high risk of potential influenza complications. This includes those with chronic diseases or suppressed immune systems and women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during influenza season. Vaccine is also available to resume flu shots on Monday, November 20 at the HCA Immunization Clinic in Santa Ana, located at 1725 W. 17th Street. The Santa Ana clinic will offer flu shots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last. Delivery of influenza vaccine was delayed nationwide by vaccine production problems. However, HCA will schedule additional influenza immunization clinics as more vaccine is received. For the most current information on the availability of influenza vaccine through HCA, please call the Health Referral Line at 1-800-564-8448. ### |
