Children and Youth Services' (CYS) Project Together of the
Orange County Health Care Agency will be sending children from
the program to participate in Mervyn's 2000 Child Spree on
Saturday, August 5, 2000, 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m., at Mervyn's,
200 Imperial Highway, Fullerton. Project Together staff
coordinated with regional therapists to identify 14 children
that could most benefit by attending. Mentors from Project
Together will accompany children to help them shop.

County Public Health Warns of Possible Measles Exposure June 9, 2000
Today Dr. Mark Horton announced that some members of the public
might have been exposed to the virus that causes measles when
they attended the Season Finale of the Orange County High School
of the Arts at the Orange County Performing Arts Center on June
4, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. One person in attendance was subsequently
diagnosed with measles, and this was confirmed by the Orange
County Public Health Laboratory.

Emergency Medical Services Week May 1, 2000
Emergency medical personnel will be honored Tuesday, May 16 at
9:30 a.m. by the Orange County Board of Supervisors in the Board
Hearing Room, 10 Civic Center Plaza, in Santa Ana. This
recognition is in observance of National Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) Week, May 14-20. The men and women to be honored
are those who have assisted in rescues and who have rendered
life saving care to children and adults throughout the county.

Emergency Medical Services Receives Grant April 24, 2000
Emergency Medical Services, a part of Orange County's Health
Care Agency, has received a grant from the Office of Traffic
Safety, State of California and the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration. The grant will implement a program that
will train approximately 4,000 law enforcement personnel in
Orange County in the use of bag-valve-mask ventilation.

A three-year study comparing two methods currently used by
