(Santa Ana) – Students from four Orange County High Schools have been awarded honors in this year’s 4th Annual Health and Nutrition Essay Contest, sponsored by the Orange County Health Care Agency and Orange County Nutrition Alert Coalition. Westminster High School student Thang Pham was awarded first place for an essay entitled "A Life-Altering Experience." Last year, Pham won second place in the contest. The County of Orange Board of Supervisors will honor Pham and the four other student winners at the Board’s June 26th meeting. Pham will also receive a $200 United States Savings Bond to continue his educational experience and a $20 gift certificate from Barnes & Noble Bookstores. Other winners included:
The contest is held annually to encourage Orange County high school students to explore the relationship between health and nutrition and to encourage the use of reliable sources of nutrition information. Over 220 entries were submitted in this year’s Essay Contest. # # # |
