Smallpox Mass Vaccination Exercise

WHAT: Mass Vaccination Exercise to be conducted by the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), in cooperation with the American Red Cross - Orange County Chapter.

No actual vaccinations will be given.

The exercise will test HCA’s capability to rapidly vaccinate large numbers of people. An estimated 1,400 community volunteers will participate.

During the exercise, several individuals who will simulate smallpox-like symptoms will be transported to nearby UCI Medical Center, which will conduct its own exercise concurrently with the county drill.
