Two Additional Orange County Senior Centers To Offer Free Flu Shots


(Santa Ana) – Flu shots will be offered at two additional senior centers in Orange County, bringing to six the number of senior centers that will offer the free vaccinations between December 7-16.

The newly announced flu shot clinics will be held:

  • December 9 from 9 a.m.-12 Noon at the La Habra Senior Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd., La Habra; and

  • December 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange Senior Center, 170 S. Olive, Orange.

Flu shots will be offered on a “first come-first served” basis while vaccine supplies last to Orange County residents who are in the following high-risk groups:

  • Adults 65 years and older

  • People from 18 to 64 years of age with chronic medical conditions (Required regular medical care or stayed in the hospital in the last year for one of the following: heart disease; diabetes; lung disease, including asthma; kidney disease; sickle cell disease and related blood diseases and immune system weak from diseases, like cancer, or medications)

  • Pregnant women

  • Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities

  • Health care workers who provide direct patient care

  • Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children less than 6 months old

Flu vaccine is also available in Orange County for children in high-risk categories, including children from 6 to 23 months old; children who are household contacts of babies less than 6 months old; and children 2 – 18 years of age with chronic medical conditions or who are on long-term aspirin therapy.
