Spring conference

Conference date May 2, 2002. FDA location site brings credibility to the conference. We will do this conference in collaboration with CDA-OD. This will be their fundraiser. The cost for attending the conference will be $30.00 per person. We have about $200 funds left from last years meeting that CDA-OD is saving for us.

Speakers:

Ellen Coleman agreed to come and speak again. She would like to talk about popular sport supplements and popular supplements. She can talk for 1 ˝ to 2 hrs.

Other potential speakers:

Pharmacist: interaction between medications and supplements.

Dubious "Doctor" // Radio Carnies we can ask Dr. William Jarvis.

Dr. Wally Samson from Stanford University can talk about alternative medicine used for different diseases. He can talk for 1 ˝ hours. Vaughn Rees can talk to him to speak at our conference.

Panel: This was very interesting and we should do it again. Melissa from CDA-OD states we can get CE for this. We can ask to see if we can get someone from the FDA, FTC, DHS, Lawyer and even maybe a pharmacist discuss what they do when consumers use supplements that interact with medications. Have a pharmacist attend our next meeting to give a talk. This way we can see if we should have him attend our panel.

Isabel will contact Rosario with the FDA to see if we can use the same room again.

Vaughn is to contact Dr. Wally Samson to see if he can speak at our conference.

Isabel is to contact these different groups too see if they can speak at our conference on the panel discussion group.
