About Us
To improve local coordination and implementation of nutrition
education programs, the Network for a Healthy California (the
Network) was
developed by the California Department of Public Health (CDHS)
www.cdph.ca.gov, Cancer
Prevention and Nutrition Section (CPNS )
www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/CPNS.
The Network grant was made
possible through funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA)
www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usdahome Food Stamp Program.
Orange Region, which consists only of Orange County, is one of
the eleven statewide regions that received the Network grant. The County
of Orange
Health Care Agency plays an active role as the
Network lead
agency, responsible for
coordinating and supporting Network-funded
projects and developing partnerships and collaborations to help
low-income populations adopt healthy eating and physical activity
lifestyles in their communities.
