The PSASI Assessment and Coordination Team (ACT) is a team of public health nurses providing intensive intervention services to substance abusing women and their families during their pregnancy through 6 months post partum:

• to ensure appropriate prenatal care

• to optimize pregnancy outcome

• to support participation in drug and alcohol treatment programs

ACT Public Health Nurses provide these services:

• Home and Provider site visits

• Health Assessments

• Prenatal Teaching

• Appointments/referrals for prenatal care

• Access to family planning services

• Referral to drug and alcohol treatment programs

• Resource and referral for socio/economic and transportation needs

• Support compliance with medical care and drug/alcohol treatment

• Case coordination with involved programs and providers

PSASI/ACT also provides FREE training support to providers and their staff
