American Lung Association of
Orange County
The American Lung Association (ALA) of Orange County’s mission is to
promote lung health and prevent lung disease. The ALA strives to fight
lung disease in all its forms and places a special emphasis on asthma,
tobacco control, and environmental health. The ALA is recognized as
the single greatest resource for information and education about lung
health. We have assumed a leading role locally and nationally in the
fight against tobacco by helping smokers to quit, encouraging children
not to start smoking, protecting nonsmokers from secondhand smoke, and
advocating for improved government air quality standards. As the South
Orange County Smoking Cessation Provider under the Tobacco Free
Communities project, ALA provides FREE cessation services for adults
such as, telephone counseling, support groups, one time seminars, and
a 5-10 cessation series to adults who want to quit smoking. ALA also
provides FREE cessation services for teens such as telephone
counseling, one time seminars and a 5-10 cessation series to teens who
want to quit smoking. All cessation services for adults are provided
in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.
