WIC Eligibility

To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Applicant must be in one of the following categories:
   • Pregnant Woman
   • Breastfeeding Woman up to 12 months
   • Postpartum woman up to 6 months
   • Infant
   • Child under 5 years of age
2. Applicants’ family income must meet 185% of the current federal poverty guidelines. Families with low or moderate income levels may qualify. Find out if you qualify by completing the WIC Eligibility Assessment.
3. Applicant must be a California resident who works or resides in Orange County.
4. Applicant must be at nutritional risk as determined by a health professional. The nutrition evaluation is based on:
   • Height, weight, growth assessment
   • Hematocrit or hemoglobin to screen for anemia
   • Health history and diet assessment
