Program Description: The Orange County Parent Wellness Program (OCPWP) provides prevention and early intervention services to expectant and new parents, during pregnancy or within 12 months of having a child, who are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety and/or depression which are attributable to either the current pregnancy or recent birth of their child. The goals of OCPWP are to: prevent or mitigate the onset of worsening of behavioral health issues in pregnant or parenting youth, women, and men; help youth, women, and men develop coping and wellness skills; improve bonding and attachment between babies and their caregivers as a result of improved mental wellness; and promote healthy families. Field and clinic-based services include: program eligibility and needs assessment, individual therapy, family psychoeducation, psychoeducational support groups, wellness activities, on-site supervision of minors while participants are receiving clinic services, coordination and linkage to community resources, and community outreach and education.
