Lead Week is a national annual campaign during the last full week of October to bring awareness to and prevent childhood lead exposure.
This year's theme, Nutrition as Prevention, addresses the role that nutrition plays in preventing lead from being absorbed into the body and empowers families to offer healthy meals and snacks when possible.
Everyone is encouraged to get involved with Lead Week by participating in events and sharing resources about preventing childhood lead poisoning.

- The California Department of Public Health - Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) will be presenting an overview of the Program’s services, nutritional information about foods that help reduce the absorption of lead and foods that are covered by WIC’s service that fit these nutritional needs.

- The Los Angeles Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) will present on foods and recipes that contain ingredients that help reduce the absorption of lead and bringing together communities through cultural humility.
