Orange County’s overall health fares well compared to other counties in California. Despite that, issues such as obesity and diabetes and increasing rates of Alzheimer’s disease in our aging population are of great concern. The Orange County Health Improvement Plan identifies goals, objectives, and strategies for four priority health areas: 1) Infant and Child Health; 2) Older Adult Health; 3) Obesity and Diabetes; and 4) Mental Health and Substance Use and improvements for Orange County’s Public Health System. These areas address the greatest needs based on trends and disparities; and provide the greatest opportunities to improve health through collaborative and coordinated efforts. 2014-16 Orange County Health Improvement Plan
