Children's Support and Parenting Program

Who We Are: The Children's Support and Parenting Program (CSPP) is designed to serve a wide range of families whose stressors make children more vulnerable to developing behavioral health problems.

What We Do: We focus on families with a range of challenges:

  • A parent or parents who have a history of serious substance abuse and/or mental illness
  • Involvement in or at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system
  • Children living with family members who have developmental or physical illnesses/disabilities
  • Children living in families that are impacted by divorce, domestic violence, trauma, unemployment, and/or homelessness
  • Children of families of active duty military/returning veterans.

Referral based program: Families are referred through behavioral health programs, community providers, Family Resource Centers, and schools.

How we work: We offer a multi-week group series with a focus on increasing parenting skills and support, increasing child resiliency, and improving the overall strength of the family. Brief family intervention sessions and referrals to community services are available to all participants. Follow-up sessions are provided to graduates as an opportunity to reunite with other families and refresh their learned skills.

Family Support Services

Family Support Services program helps to create a family support system for families and caretakers of those who have behavioral health conditions. Family support services focus on supporting and educating families about behavioral health issues to prevent the development of behavioral health conditions in other members of the family.

Our services include: group support, weekly peer mentor support, educational workshops, classes and presentations, volunteer family mentor networks, and after-class-care.
