OC Center for Resiliency, Education & Wellness (OC CREW)

OC Crew serves young people ages 14-25, and the people important in their lives, by providing supportive services for those experiencing a recent first episode of psychosis. Navigating the Involuntary Hold Process (5150)

A guide for family members and loved ones to the Involuntary Hold (5150) process. 5150 is the number of the section of the Welfare and Institutions Code that allows an adult who is experiencing a mental health crisis to be involuntarily detained for a 72- hour psychiatric hospitalization when evaluated to be a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled.
