About Us
Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH)’s mission is to make Orange County (OC) a place where all women of reproductive age, as well as infants, children, adolescents, and all families live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. MCAH focuses on addressing the health priorities and primary needs of infants, mothers, children and adolescents, and their families in Orange County. MCAH is responsible for the Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP), Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Program, Perinatal Assessment and Coordination Team (PACT), Nurse-Family Partnership®, Prenatal Care Guidance (PCG) Program, and Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP).
MCAH Programs Staff is comprised of physicians, public health nurses, social workers, health educators, epidemiologists, research analysts, nutritionists, administrators, and support staff. Funding is provided through Title V, Title XIX (Medicaid), and local County Fund.

Programs
- Breastfeeding (resources for the public, professional, and hospitals)
- Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) (a perinatal support services program provided by certified CPSP providers)
- Nurse-Family Partnership® (an evidenced-based, nurse home visiting program that improves the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of low-income, first-time parents and their children.)
- Perinatal Assessment And Coordination Team (PACT) (a visitation program for prenatal and parenting women including women who have substance use disorder and/or HIV infection. This program also provides nurse visits to Medically High-Risk Newborns (MHRN).)
- Pregnant and Parenting Teens (a case management program for pregnant and parenting teens)
- Prenatal Care Guidance (a program to provide outreach to pregnant women to inform, motivate, and assist them in obtaining early, consistent, and appropriate prenatal care.)
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) (a program that provides home visits to support families who experience SIDS death)
