CD HEALTH ALERT: Modification of Health Care Providers and Laboratories COVID-19 Reporting Requirements

OCHCA wants to make all health care and laboratory providers aware of new temporary modifications to certain COVID-19 reporting requirements.

The California State Health Officer order issued today can be found here .

Health care providers must report hospitalization and/or death of a patient due to COVID-19 within one working day. Previously, health care providers were required to report all COVID-19 cases immediately.
Laboratories must report all COVID-19 test results within 24 hours from the time the laboratory notifies the health care provider or other person authorized to receive the report. Previously, laboratories were required to report more rapidly.
