DESCRIPTION

Sendout to National Jewish to test serum for therapeutic drug monitoring for “Peak” concentration, delayed drug absorption, or Trough concentration.

SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS

CONTAINER: Whole blood – plain red top, 8-10 ml tube  
Serum – polypropylene tube

COLLECTION: Collect blood in red top tube and separate serum by centrifugation and aliquot into polypropylene tube, 2ml of serum per test is needed.

TRANSPORT CONDITIONS: Whole blood submitted at room temperature (15-30°C).
Serum submitted at -70°C if possible (otherwise -20°C).
