County Health Officer on Local Oil Spill - Health Advisory #5

(Santa Ana, CA) – In response to the reopening of fisheries by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on November 30, OC Health Care Agency (HCA) Director and County Health Officer Dr. Clayton Chau has lifted the health advisory against consuming harvested fish or seafood from affected beaches along the Orange County coastline.

According to the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, there is no further risk to public health related to seafood consumption in the affected area, and fishing and consumption of seafood from the area can resume.
